Don’t Miss the Glenorchy Races

trc-slide-1Queenstown has one of the most beautiful settings of any city in the southern hemisphere, as it is nestled between lofty peaks and a stunning lake. It is the adventure capital of the world, where almost anything goes, from bungee jumping and jet-boating to fly-by-wire and luging. This gorgeous city is also known for its top-class skiing, while a huge number of bars and eateries make for a great night-time atmosphere, filled with extremists of the sporting kind.

Every year in the month of January, the Glenorchy Races features horse racing at the Glenorchy track, with many jockeys and horses from all over the South Island; bareback racing is also on the cards.

There are also lots of other exciting events that are held in Queenstown each and every year. The Arrowtown Autumn Festival in Arrowtown celebrates the gold-mining era just after Easter and into the autumn, with street entertainment and market days.
